About Karen's Holistic Health Consulting:


Karen Claffey has over 35 years experience in holistic health, fitness, and wellness based on Macrobiotic and Ayurvedic medicine.

Karen's recommendations may include a combination of: natural foods, natural healing methods, yoga therapy, positive affirmations and daily lifestyle choices. Meditation, visualization and/or fitness enhancing activities to optimize your health and well being may be included. ​

 

​​Appointment Procedure​:

  1. Step 1: After payment for the service has been processed, the patient books their first and second appointments with Karen. Appointments are typically booked 2-8 weeks in advance. Payment is due upon booking. 
     

  2. Step 2: The patient will receive two PDF documents via email: 1) Diet & Lifestyle 1-Week Journal, and 2) Ayurvedic Dosha Questionnaire. These forms are to be completed and emailed back to Karen at least 1 week prior to your 1st appountment. 
     

  3. Step 3: The 1st Appointment 55 Minutes:
    Review the patient's completed Diet & Lifestyle 1-Week Journal, and Dosha Questionaire.
    Clarification of patient's health concerns and goals, and determination of whether diet and/or lifestyle changes will best address same.
     

  4. Step 4: Between the first and second appointment Karen will prepare health and lifestyle recommendations tailored specifically to the patient's condition, and to support their objectives. This will be presented to the patient at the second appointment. The first and second appointments are generally booked 1-2 weeks apart, according to mutual availability.
     

  5. Step 5: The 2nd Appointment 55 Minutes:​ 
    Karen explains the patient's recommendations and holistic health program: 

  • In the case when dietary adjustments are prescribed, a sample menu will be provided and explained in detail.

  • In the case when yoga, breathing, and/or meditation exercises are prescribed, these will be explained and the patient may be guided through certain exercises with a detailed explanation of the techniques. 

 

Fees:
  • Step 1 - 5 (as described above): $350 + HST

  • 55-Minute Follow-Up Appts: $120 + HST

  • 25-Minute Follow-Up Appts: $80 + HST


Follow-Up Appointments:

 

Depending on the patient's condition and/or goals a series of appointments may be required. This allows for adjustments and modifications to the program as the patients condition evolves.

 

Appointments will be scheduled as often as required for optimal support and success. In some cases it may be recommended to meet every two weeks initially, then four weeks, and gradually reduce frequency as needed. It has been medically proven that support is an essential element for success in healing. Regular appointments ensure that you are progressing on track and achieving the desired results.
 

 

Scheduling Policy​ 

 

  • Appointment changes and cancellations are requested at least 48 hours in advance.

  • Cancellations received after 24 hours notice will be charged.
